Anti Spam Management
Karma on EGOWeblog
EGO!Weblog features powerful tools to deal with spam and spammers. In this article, I will explain how these tools work:
After you log in to your admin area, go to Control Centre.
Find Anti Spam Management and check out the tools in this section:
AuthImage offers extra comment authentication for EGO!Weblog by using a 'captcha' (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart). If you allow this feature, every user will have to enter the number which he reads from a pre-generated image. This is how the image looks like:
AuthImage is a reliable way how to tell computers and humans apart and prevent automated submissions by spammers.
DNS Anti Spam can be used to increase the security of your blog against spammers. It will check if a comment poster is on an open proxy list, and it will also check if the content contains known spammer domains. If so, it will not allow the comment to be posted.
HiddenInput adds hidden fields to your comment form to prevent comments by spam robots.
Moderate will mark all new comments as "Unmoderated" and therefore they will not be published until they are approved by the blog owner. To review a comment go to Manage -> Unmoderated Comments and select approve or reject for the comment.
NoFollow will add a 'rel="nofollow"' attribute to all anchor links found in comments, in order to tell search engines such as Google or Yahoo! not to index the link.
Validate Trackbacks offers validation of trackbacks to prevent spam trackback.
